Okay, this is why Fox News think the Left is populated with out-of-touch liberal elites.

Clueless assholes such as Woody Allen, Pedro Almodovar, Monica Bellucci, Tilda Swinton, David Lynch, Jonathan Demme, John Landis, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Wim Wenders and Martin Scorsese signed a petition to have Polanski released.

I couldn't care less about most of them, but Scorsese? Really? You cut me deep, Marty. You cut me deep.

Let's be serious for a second. Roman Polanski is a rapist. Not only did he rape a woman, but he drugged and raped a 13 year old child. We're talking about a girl in middle school here. She wasn't even old enough to see the shitty movies he made.

Maybe a little colloquial language will help shed some perspective:

Roman Polanski gave a pretty young thing some champagne. It may have been a school night, but Ol' Polanski needed to beat some guts. Even though she was acting like a frigged bitch -- she was saying something unintelligible, something that rhymed with "shno" -- she wanted it. So on top of getting her bitch-drunk, Polanski fed her some quaaludes and told her to forget about the algebra test she should have been studying for. That worked good enough. Then it was time go down on her, because as all rapist asshole directors know: you've got to lick it before you stick it. Plus she probably hadn't grown much pubic hair by then, so hey, why not. Then it was time for the sweet, sweet rape. As he was raping her, he thought about all kinds of stuff. Murdering puppies. Piles of money. His dead wife. But then he thought: "Damn, even though this bitch may not be physically capable of gestating my spermicals, abortions are expensive". So he asked her if she remembered her last period. When she couldn't answer him, he thought: "Not a problem. In fact, this is an organic transition -- the perfect kairotic moment" and promptly threw it in her butt. He then continued to sodomized her ass until he blew his pervert load. He promised to call her, but never did.

So what part of that story is untrue? None of it. Maybe the part about the spermicals. But the asshole-sodomizing of the drugged-up 13 year old? Yeah, that actually happened.

So why would anyone (besides Woody Allen, for reasons that remain obvious) want this guy free? Because he made good films?

Here's a totally revolutionary, shocking idea: His films can still be great.... even while he's rotting in jail. I have no problem thinking someone can be a shitbag civilian in their personal lives while the frame surrounding their art protects a cheerful innocence.
